Book Character Day

Today is a special day for St Mary's.Today, is, Book Character Day! For book character day we get to dress up as our favourite book character. I dressed up as Matilda from the book Matilda a book by Roald Dahl. Matilda is a 5 or 6 year old girl that is very smart wears a blue dress she likes to read books and she even wants to go to school. She knows how to even bake PANCKES! One day she eventually got enrolled to a school full of torture but at least it wasn't fully torture. She at least had a nice teacher. Well that is part of the story but I won't tell you the rest. Here is a screenshot of the book cover.
Matilda is a great story and I recommend you read it.

Grandparents Day Performances

Last week we had a holiday called Grandparents Day. Grandparents day is a day to be thankful for our grandparents and it's also might be a very special day for grandparents too. We first had a mass and then we had shared lunch then a concert. We had a nice time in our shared lunch and I remember ending up playing chess. For the concert there were a lot of groups like PI, choir, gymnastics and even the Filipino group (of course, that wasn't all the groups). Here are the groups that I performed in using photos and This Text: PI and choir.
The ones with the costumes is PI the ones with no costumes choir.

I think that the grandparents enjoyed the concert.

Chess

Last week my dad visited my class to teach chess. He taught my classmates the basics of chess even if we already know how to play chess. While he was teaching chess the class was sitting around him but not too close and no one was in the back (back of my dad) so, everybody got to see what is happening (like at the photo below this text).
We also got to play against each other (my classmates) and it was fun. Now we play chess I dunno like, everyday before school. A lot of my classmates keeps on thinking that I will beat the easily! But, I hope everything goes well as the term goes on (if you want to see one of the games, look at the photo below the text).

Hello.My name is Nyla.

In this post i'm using sign language to say my name I hope you like it. A teacher named Julie helped room 2 (my class) and room 1 speak a bit of sign language. She also told us some very interesting things while she taught us some sign language, like how there is a certain language for people that are def and blind. She said that a lot of countries have different sign languages, some similar. though this kind of sign language is not the same as the american sign language. This sign language is also an official language for New Zealand (NZ).
